DOLLAR TREE SAYS 'WE CAN DONATE' TOO

DOLLAR TREE SAYS 'WE CAN DONATE' TOO Not to be outdone by Walmart, Dollar Tree donates to Jackson school (by G. Randy Cazzate) After the Walmart stores in Jackson announced they were donating a combined $6,000 to North Side High School, another retailer announced they were making a donation to an area school as well. Monday, February 3rd, Dollar Tree presented a check to Thelma Barker Elementary school in the amount of $14.58. Vice Principal Sandy Thomas and PTO President Jennifer Harrison were present to receive the check during recess in the school gymnasium. Thomas muttered, "Gee thanks", and Harrison chimed in "Great, we can buy 14 boxes of Dollar Tree pencils with this windfall." Store manager Shaneka Dinwiddy, as she presented the check said, "We do all we can for the community and remember spring is coming and our gnomes ain't but a dollar!"
