JACKSON GENERALS ANNOUNCE HUGE AMAZON DEAL

JACKSON GENERALS ANNOUNCE HUGE AMAZON DEAL Baseball organization and the City of Jackson in talks with Amazon for warehousing and drone test facility during off season (by G. Randy Cazzate) Following on the heels of Amazon announcing a new Memphis fulfillment center this week, the Jackson Generals and the City of Jackson announced an agreement is in the works for a smaller center and drone testing option at the Generals' baseball stadium. Financial arrangements were not released. Jackson Mayor Scott Conger said, "Our proximity to the new Memphis center, nearby access to I-40, and no baseball from October to March made this a perfect fit for Amazon." Minor league baseball franchises across the nation have been struggling financially and have been actively seeking ways to utilize their facilities during off seasons. Generals GM Marcus Sabata said, "This is a real shot in the arm for our franchise. And as a bonus for our season ticket holders, they'll get free same day shipping from Amazon." A recent announcement of a concert series will also help. Conger added, "Concert attendees will be treated to an Amazon drone show prior to each concert, with the drones dropping sponsor items into the crowd. Catfish Cabin has already agreed to supply hushpuppies for the first concert." Amazon spokesperson Janette Blasingame said, "The open-air ballpark stadium makes this a perfect opportunity for us to test our drone delivery plans." She added, "This rural market will also help us determine what percentage of drones will be targeted by rednecks and their shotguns and rifles." Asked about the likelihood of area hunters using the drones for target practice, Bemis Ducks Unlimited President Frank 'Skeeter' Brasher said, "You damn skippy!".
Amazon plans to be in the stadium in time for the 2020 holiday season. All Jackson Critic articles are satire news and entirely fabricated.
